Text on back of envelope: Marijuanas’s use for medicinal purposes dates back thousands of years to mankind’s earliest medical journals. It’s been used to treat a wide range of ailments including insomnia, epuloid convulsions, dysmenorrhea, difficult child birth, rheumatism, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, neuralgia, migraine headaches, Huntington’s disease, and loss of appetite. Queen Victoria’s personal physician, Sir John Russell Reynolds, also prescribed it for menstrual cramps (although it’s likely that the Queen herself made use of marijuana, it is unlikely that she ingested it by smoking). The greatest risks associated with this nontoxic drug are the severe consequences of getting caught using it (in most places). There has never been a human death attributed to its use. |
